Summer 2010 Money Smart Summer Camp

Parents send their kids to summer programs for a variety of reasons, but among the most important is that they can provide enriching educational experiences during vacation months. Personal finance is an extremely important topic for kids of all ages, and instilling the importance of responsible practices before they are confronted with difficult choices can hold life long benefits. Through a financial education outreach program, AmeriCorps VISTA members will have the opportunity to introduce important life skills to local youth – skills like saving, budgeting, and long-term planning – that will help them think about important financial choices before they have to make them.
